I started with the tune of ‘Singing in the rain” & had to rapidly revise my musical thoughts!😂
‘Buy new ones dear Henry”...
Excellent early Christmas present!😄
Now that your trainers have a hole in them, perhaps your husband could buy you a new pair for Christmas, 🎄 until then, hopefully depending it does not rain until then☔☔😂, no chance being Scotland 🏴 , you will just have to wear your present trainers, better still, go buy a new pair tomorrow.
If only ! We’ve both been out of work for two years now and running shoes don’t fit the category of essentials. Hopefully they’ll hold together till my birthday in the Spring 😀
Sorry about that BCK, yes I know running shoes are expensive, I went into a well known brand sports shop recently to see just how expensive trainers for runners are, the cheapest I could see were £50 and that was a sale, as someone here on C25K said "running ain't cheap".
Nothing expensive about running itself - it’s just the gear. Maybe I’ll go Zola Budd 😁
Well, mend it dear buttercupkid, dear buttercupkid, dear buttercupkid, well mend it dear...etc etc ( love that song - the original- takes me back to my childhood.
Seriously though, new trainers (or hiking boots) is a double edged sword I always think, the joy of the new vs the anxiety of getting a pair that are not quite right. Good luck with that👍
Thanks, Avocado. With what shall I mend it?
With straw, dear buttercupkid... hmm, might be a tad uncomfy though 🤔
😁
When I was young and we were very poor, holes in the shoes were common (gosh, sounds like something from Dickens! "We didn't 'ave two ha'pennies to rub togever but we was 'appy guv"!)
You could put your feet into bread bags to keep them dry, but to be honest, once your feet are wet they're wet (and I reckon plastic bags would make your feet sweat something rotten!)
I hope it's not too long before you can get new ones BK 👟👟
There is a product called Shoe Armour that is used to prevent/ repair holes in the upper part of the trainers. If I knew how to share the link I would, but I'm sure if you search Shoe Armour shoe hole prevention , you will find it. Currently not available on good old Amazon though. 😶
The shoes I ran i today are more holes than uppers but it doesn’t matter as I knew it would be filthy en route
Lidl running shoes look gorgeous and they’re about £15. There might be a review on them somewhere in here somewhere. My fave kinvara were a bargain at £28
Local running shops take older models to races so that’s another one to explore. I’ve bought my last trail shoes that way
Also, unpopular colours are far cheaper 👍
