I returned to C25K on Monday after an 8 week break and miraculously picked up where I’d left off, infact I felt more comfortable than at any previous stage of the programme.
Onwards to the 2nd run (I shuffle, jog at best, I def don’t run!) with slightly aching legs but feeling confident after Monday.
It was so much harder! I couldn’t even go in a straight line in the last 5 mins and no way could I continue to 30mins as I’d planned ... I was warned that the 2nd run after a break could catch me out.
Week 7 onwards is harder to get excited about after the fist pumping ends to W5 & W6 so I varied my pace a bit today, maybe that’s why it was harder. I’ll go at a steady pace next time. 🏃🏻♀️

I’m not an expert of coming back to this plan after injury, but in general I’d expect to see something like you describe. All the plans I’ve followed back from injury and read about since resuming running have dropped weekly mileage down by 40% if out for between a month and 3 months, so while you still have one week 8 run in you, the second is going to be asking a lot as it puts you back to 60+% of where you were. Maybe an extra couple of days rest now will help... or do one short next run?
