Had a mare of a graduation run today ... managed to knock out the emergency clip on the treadmill early on and then (I donβt know how I did it) I managed to pause the app on my phone for a bit. However I did manage to complete and from doing the post run maths did a bit more than I should ... Iβve just worked out I ran for 33 minutes and covered 5.7km, which given I failed to complete my first attempt at W1R1 is pretty bloody good.
Iβve now ran 5k in under 30 minutes on each of the last 5 runs and I can feel the improvement in my mental and physical energy levels. Iβm on holiday so the last few runs have been in the hotel gym but looking forward to getting outdoors when iβm back in Scotland next week.
Thank you for all of the kind words of encouragement over the past 9 weeks and to the admins who run this site. Well done to those who have just graduated and whose posts iβve been following.
Like someone said on one of todayβs earlier posts, this is just the end of the beginning .. will be heading over to the 10k forum and targeting my first 10k run early next year

Congratulations! Yes, youβve just found your next start line! Love the attitude there, that 10k will come soon. Enjoy celebrating and maybe spend a few runs consolidating on your current distance, itβs always advisable to do every few months... so maybe for you thatβs 5.5 to 6k. Have a great rest of your holiday too.
