Suggestions for jacket/top layer

Any suggestions for a top layer for running in rain and cold wind? Are hoods for wimps?!

PS Just love it when I can go for a run and come back to a nice !ong soak in a hot bath. Both are good for my blood pressure, which was the reason I was "forced" into running! But I've found the combination of the run and the bath are bliss!

I always have a hot cup of tea and hot shower when I get back. I wear a hat for running, close fitting, no bobble.

I have a long sleeve running top which are great. I’m a baldy so always have a cap or wooly hat if it’s cold. Don’t care how I look 😂😂

I'm not keen on getting wet! My cagoule today got wet on the inside as well as the outside but it was better wind protection than the long sleeved running top. I thought there might be a modern fibre that'd cope with my preferences, but maybe not.

I am a baldy so always wear a hat although I find that the beanie type is uncomfortable over my headphones and glasses do tend towards baseball caps. I have also been running in a rather old wind proof top but found that I sweated as much inside it as the outside rain. Just replaced it with a nice dayglo orange very lightweight proper running top and it’s brilliant it doesn’t seem to heat me up And it keeps the rain, hail and the wind at bay worth every penny. My other great recent purchase was some nice thin runners gloves which I really needed - must be my age although they say cold-hands warm-heart

When it gets to minus 10 I pop a short sleeved t shirt over my long sleeves but anything else = too hot by the time I get going properly. However, extremities need to be warm with things that can be easily whipped off and stashed - gloves, and buffs for neck, ears, head.
