So my last post indicated that I’d ‘cruised’ W5r1 ..... and thought r2/3 were just going to be the same ..... have just looked at W5r2 and r3 and have just picked myself off the floor ! 8mins In R2 and 20mins R3 !!! What the ....... ! Why change the format of previous weeks?! Well guess they know what they are doing but R3 looks like impossible at the moment !

I am in the same position as you Alan, it seems an enormous jump to a solid 20 mins. I am going to be looking for somewhere flat to run! I am finding drinking lots (through the week) saves my legs from aching too much.

Abstaining from wine at the moment and replacing with water will hopefully help me through it too! Today is rest day for me ie gentle cardio at gym then run tomorrow ... as per previous post on rest day I’ll do the following ie W5 r2 but walk it 6.4kph and 4incline on treadmill where they say run then back to 0.5 incline and 6.2kph when they say walk... gives me an idea what to expect tomorrow when I do it . Here’s hoping I can get through it ! Thanks for your advice

Haha, you’ve had the same reaction as virtually everyone who’s been through C25K! 😅

But yes the programme knows its stuff so don’t doubt it. Your body will definitely be ready for the 20 minuter, and you’ll almost certainly feel epic afterwards! 💪

Slow and steady all the way, and don’t forget to enjoy it! 👊🏃

Exactly what I though Alan, i was almost writing a letter of complaint 😂😂. Did the run on Sunday and incredibly got straight through it. Definitely slow and easy does it know idea how but it’s do-able 👍

Yes at beginning of programme I reckon I went too fast but since slowing it down on week 4 have managed a bit better.... what do they say ?? Life’s a marathon not a sprint 😀

It’s definitely an issue for me. I struggle first few minutes as I tend to take off a bit quick. Once you get into a happy stride and the breathing’s easy stick with it. I go seriously slow but it works and I’m hardly out of breath that much 👍

Like most of us - it’s a shock but achievable. I’ve just completed W6 now and from what I can see, no more intermittent run/walk/run. In some ways I found after doing the 20 minutes the next two sessions were harder! So I’m strangely enjoying the solid run ideas 👍🏻

Yes complete shock but learning to pace myself better so hopefully will get through it ..I’m no quitter ! Ha this is what I say when on last minute of run !

You’ll cruise them... slow and steady and believe in yourself... there’s nothing to fear. Week 5 is the best week.

There is no jump in workout duration.......in fact a reduction

This breaks it down for you healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You will do it.
