So since graduating a few weeks ago my shin splints got really bad. I took a week off and got back into it but with 3 x 2km runs a week my gp and physio say that I need to take it easy and the 2km doesn’t aggravate it as I stop when it begins hurts generally by the 2km mark.
I am feeling like I am being a bit of cop out with it by doing these 15 minute runs. Is it defeating the object of the C25K?

No. The object is to get and stay healthy through regular exercise and to enjoy doing it. Harassing your shin splints wouldn’t achieve that at all ! Why not ask your physio about other fitness targets you could work on just now that wouldn’t require you to put weight on your shins ? That way you can be building stamina and suppleness, ready for the long runs later. All the best with it x
Thank you. I feel good for doing the short runs but have noticed that I can physically do more but my shins start aching so I don’t push it. My physio says do swimming but I am not keen so going to continue with this maybe extend a little each run and stop and walk in between. I know I can do it now suppose I need to listen to my body.
