Following on from my last post - and THANK YOU all for your lovely support on that - I saw my osteopath on Friday. He suggested that my knee issues where due to very tight muscles and after a deep massage to go back to Week 5 & try a gentle run today.
After a warm up and stretching I couldn’t run for even 60 seconds without the most excruciating slicing pain on the inside of my knee 😔 So I stopped had a little cry and came home.
I’m going to find a physio who can help me get back to it. But before then I’m guessing ice & rest??? Does rest mean not even walking the dog?
I WILL be back and I WILL graduate. In the meantime I’ll be all your biggest cheerleaders watching from the sidelines until I’m back running with you. Listen to your bodies and good luck with your training 💛

Yes, ice and rest from running. Dog will need a walk, just take it easy. Physio will give you things you can do to strengthen it and hopefully you won’t be out for long.
So sorry to hear that LP. Defo sports physio or sports therapist if your pain continues. Slicing pain sounds really painful 😖. Look after yourself & hopefully back running soon👍🏻
Hi LottiePops. I am so sorry and sending a hug as I know a cuddle will make things better - they always do! My physio has given me a set of 6 exercises specifically for my knees... at first I couldn’t see how they could help and seemed to make my knee more sore! 10 repetitions of each, morning and night and 6 days on I can feel a difference... rest means rest I think - I tried a 1 mile slow walk after 5 days and I know now that was too soon. Spoke to physio who has advised ‘active resting’ - no serious walking and no running but no sitting or laying down either!! I’ve been trying to elevate my knees at night and kept up with the exercises religiously... I’m starting to see some slight pain relief but also still taking 4 hourly pain killers . I do hope you get a physio who can advise you and you’re right, you will graduate, and so will I!! Slowly does it and patience is what we both need.. keep in contact, I’ll be willing you on from my own sideline!! X
