Beating the dark?

Does anyone run with any kind of lighting?

What do you find is best?

I’m trying to eliminate excuses so that I can keep going as I can only get out after work most nights when it’s now pitch black

I’ve seen some on eBay that have a chest light and a back light, are these comfortable to run with?

Thanks in advance for any advice

They should be ok... once you get used to them being there... same with a head torch which some prefer as it can light up where you’re going to run rather than dead ahead all the time. I’ve avoided both so far, and my daughter is going to hit the dreadmill at school two days a week to keep up.

There is basic advice about this in the guide to the forum healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

I use a head torch for the reasons UnfitNoMore has mentioned......... I like to look around as I run.

Someone on the forum recently bought some lights that fit on your shoes and she praised them.

Any recommendations on head torches?

The only one I’ve used before was while changing car batteries and headlight bulbs in a dark wet car park when I worked at Halfords

I have yet to find a perfect one.......avoid anything that stands away from your head too much......wobble..........one of mine required hard to find rechargeable batteries..........some have annoying flashing function.........useful to have a red rear light if on roads......... probably worth paying more for decent reliable quality.

I have a kalenji chest light from Decathlon with flashing light on the back. I find it comfy as it's very adjustable and it lights my path really well. I think it was about £20 a year ago.
