Running in the dark...

Hi all

Now the nights are starting to draw in a bit, I'm fining it getting quite dark before I've finished my runs. I generally run on unlit pathways in and around my village so I'm really looking for any suggestions on a good head-mounted lamp or similar so I can light the paths up whilst its dark

Any suggestions welcome

Can’t help with the head torch, but maybe also something like this: argos.co.uk/product/7547432

I graduated last October so I ended up having to do most of my runs throughout the winter in the dark. I don't like head torches so I got a running light that you wear across your chest from Amazon for about £15 (Decathlon do them too). I have been really pleased with this as it sufficiently lights the way and it also has a red light that goes on your back so that you can be seen. I also got a reflective bib for added safety. I quite enjoyed running in the dark because people can't see how red faced I was!! When the light evenings arrived I felt very exposed! ;D

Cheers Gezzi, I've gone for a chest light as recommended

Petzl head torches are really good. If you shop around you can pick one up for around £15. I love running in the dark but tend to stick to street lights but it’s not always easy to do that!

Not easy when you live in a small village, if i run 5 minutes in any direction the street lights run out :)
