Has anyone done 2runs in a day. Morning then evenning? If so how did that go?

If you have read the guide to post C25k running healthunlocked.com/couchto5... you will know that it is not recommended to run on consecutive days until you have been running for a minimum of six months, preferably longer.

The same goes for running on the same day, unless of course your two runs total less than one run that you would have normally done on that day.

Never , but did remind me of my run today, 2.7k , 2 laps round the park, then got a a bit dark and creepy, so next 3k round random streets. Worked out really well as my 2nd furthest run. 😀

I'm waiting for New Year's Day. There's a Parkrun in Shrewsbury @08:30, and another in Telford @ 10:00. But I probably won't be fit enough by then to survive them both.

2 in 1 day may be an option to start at W1R1 after completing W9R3. Other than that, you may be asking for trouble. So far so good for me at W3R3 and though I power walk same day and days in between to try to maintain 7,000 steps per day average, I would not tempt fate.

After about 18 months of regular running I found I was able to do a treadmill interval session (around 5-6k) in the morning (8-9am) and then do an outdoors C25K session (like a recovery run) with our beginners at lunchtime. It certainly helped my parkrun times!

But like I said, that was only after 18 months . Have a read around the subject - you'll read that it can take the body between 18 mths and 2 years to fully adapt to the needs of running regularly.

My idea or thinking was once a week do a nice slow steady 5k and a faster 2.5/3k later on (probably evenning time)

I have done 3 runs in one day. When I first started running as a push I started a paceatyourpace challenge. £10 buy in for the month and you have to hit the target mileage for that month. When starting out my goal was just single mile runs, So anyway I was running short. Haha get it. So in order to rack some mileage I did 2 single mile runs in the afternoon about 3 hours apart then did Football that night running 3 miles. I was stiff the next day like.
