Ok, I’ve completed W6R3 today and my legs are really feeling it post run.

I stretch gently before and after, keep well hydrated but my legs are in agony today. I’ve taken ibuprofen but I’m curious what else fellow C25K do for their post run routine

Are you doing dynamic stretches before and static stretches afterwards?

Are shoes ok? Check out the cushioning. Have you change your running style footfall, footstrike? that can have consequences. Remember, slow & steady, and make sure you are stretching properly afterwards..

Yes might look to get some different shoes

Are you wearing proper running shoes fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop?

If thinking of replacing shoes this might help healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Slowing down always reduces impact stresses.

I think I will go and get my gait analyzed. When I walk I turn my left foot over so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. It’s an ache rather than pain. Plus I think I’m going to start week 7 on Monday and give myself a few days rest.

Good run... you’ve got this now.

I don’t get many aches now, they starting noticeably reducing around week 7 for me. Pains are different, try slowing down.

I do some stretches but I also have a vibration plate at home so stand on there for 10 minutes after a run and that seems to work. I originally bought it to help with back problems but read that it was a good cool down after exercise. You can usually pick up a 2nd hand one for 20 or 30 quid too x
