Today was the day, in between the worst of the weather, I decided to face the first run I've been nervous about, but I still kept putting it off with diversion tactics like moping the floor, emptying the bins, bit of dusting, planning dinner and then suddenly my head was ready for it.
'Slow and steady' 'mind over matter' 'you can do this' all your encouraging words we're going through my head and with every 5 minute countdown of Laura's upbeat tones I was getting more optimistic.
The last 5 minutes were hard, so I went even slower, then when I was thinking 'how much longer?' 'has the app gone off?' a 2 minute countdown and I nearly cried just thinking I AM going to do this.
I'm feeling like it wasn't me as it hasn't sunk in that I've actually gone and done it! The distance covered isn't great but fitness and endurance is what it's all about for me.
Thanks for all your encouragement and advice it really, really helps me to be positive that I can and I will.
See you in Week 6!

Yes, I really did do it didn't I? I feel a huge sense of relief knowing it is possible the next time it's needed on the plan. I also held my head up more, looked some people in the eye, noticed the trees with less and less leaves and marvelled at how high the river was, anything to distract me from the countdown.
Congratulations TB50 soon on your 20 minutes run of week 5 run 3 of C25K, that is a milestone run for you today. Interesting what you say regarding fitness and endurance. When I started C25K that was the reason, to keep fit rather than set a goal for running a half or full marathon, I did graduate last June and since have been running a few 5ks but this morning as I still have the C25K app, I ran with Laura W5R3. It brought memories of the first time I ran it last May. Onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs 🏃 😊
Thank you for the advice about W6, I've read how it catches people out and tbh I'm not sure I can go any faster than I do, or maybe I'm not noticing that perhaps I am?
Hi, I used the abbreviation TB50, not 'to be' but shortened for 'the big' , however, if you feel you want to use that, 'to be' that's OK with me. I hope by the time you reach the big 5 0. You will have graduated or will soon graduate 🎓
