So I finished the C25K last Thursday and had pain in my shin/calf. As advised I rested and took it easy. But a week on and I have done no excercise.... feel quite deflated. Hoping to feel better soon so I can brush off the cobwebs that are beginning to form around my trainers...

Resting does not have to mean no exercise.

The basic principle of the PRICE approach to injury is to reduce loading on a damaged area but keep it mobile. nhs.uk/conditions/sports-in...

There are always plenty of other exercises that the IC bound runner can do without loading the legs unduly, but some gentle leg strengthening exercises would most likely be more beneficial than doing nothing.

I knew once I wrote that, that I was feeling sorry for myself so went for a short run. Felt so good !

Well done on graduating, Simba. Have you tried a bit of gentle swimming ? Excellent for building muscles without putting weight on them ! Hope you’re back out there soon x

Thank you. I decided to do a brisk walk and a 2km run yesterday ran/jogged without much pain once I thought I may hurt my shin again I stopped and walked. I needed to do it.
