was doing so well (w7r3 completed on Saturday), and then started to get a spasm / sciatica sort of pain at base of my back (well in my glutes!), by this morning it was quite bad. Went to see osteopath this afternoon, haven’t seen her since before I started running. She said i need to stop all exercise till pain goes away, but also not to do anymore running till I’ve done lots of strengthening exercises on glutes, hamstrings, thighs and core (she’s been treating me for a couple of years as my joints are very mobile). So it could be several weeks till I can go back to running - I was gutted initially, in denial, but having had a few hours to digest and mull it over (and a bag of frozen peas attached to my lower back!) I’m feeling positive that I’ll get myself better, stronger, and eventually back on the program.
Thanks again hugely for all the support on this forum, I’ll be sticking around and hope to be posting regularly again once I’ve started up again

Sorry to hear that, but good that you’re following advice with a plan. We shall be right here waiting when you get back, and we shall run just behind you cheering again. Get on those exercises and just think, they can’t be worse than starting this plan! Take care and drop in and see us still.
Hey Charlotte,so sorry to hear you are suffering. I also have hyper mobility in all my joints, which had been brought up as an issue when running with my physio. Does your physio run Pilates classes? Pilates more than anything else helps me strengthen the muscles I need to without over stretching as I do in yoga. If your physio runs a class they will focus on strengthening you in a normal range of motion And correct you if you are going too far, it may be worth considering even if less cost effective than classes at the gym
Yes ideally I’d like to go to proper Pilates classes / one to one with physio but at moment I can’t afford it so been following an online set of classes (probably not wise considering my hyper mobility!). I had one to one Pilates sessions a few years ago and it was ideal for me. Thanks so much jiggles7 it’s good to hear I’m not alone with this and it’s something I’m going to think about more!
Good luck Charlotte, hopefully all those glute strengthening excersises will help with your running all round? See you on the forum when you're better 👍
