Hello - I’ve just completed the third run on week 4 - I’ve taken my time and did an extra run week 1; had a week off due to being unwell - so not quite following to plan! I’m trying to decide if I struggled with this week and to do it another few days or push on (but a sneaky peak at week 5 has me concerned)
I did the Race for Life after losing weight back in 2006 (I was originally 18stone) now approaching 56yrs and want to enjoy a fitter retirement so back to it!
I did start on the road but as my hips are not good and my physio looked sceptically at me and said avoid uneven surfaces and dropped kerbs, I’ve taken to the treadmill. It’s easier (if not boring) but easier means I’m more likely to stick to it...wish me luck Wednesday Week 5 run 1 🙈

Good luck jj1962 you're doing great. Go slow and steady and trust the programme. Don't worry if you need more than one rest day that's fine. The key to success is to avoid injury and fatigue so go as slow as you need to. You'll crush it!
If you completed the runs..move on... slow and steady! Check out the post for Newbies too... loads of great advice there. Link this with a healthy eating regime and you are on your way!
Good luck.sounds like u doing well. Slow and steady and follow the program. I think it's ok to take longer.... I know I did due to one thing or another . Started in April and graduated August. Good luck
Well done! I’ve stalled at week 4. I too have been unwell - just a cold - but that has sapped my energy. I shall repeat week 3 and take it from there. Good luck!
