App overload ! Help!

Ok so been inspired to download Stava as led to believe it will better track how I’m doing. Don’t really understand it but I use the NHS C25K app and listen to music on my iPhone. When, how do I kick in with this Strava thingy? Bemused novice juggling too many app thingies😳

I always start the C25K app first and then when I'm about half way through the warm up walk, I go to Strava. When Sarah Millican begins to say 'that's the end of the 5 minutes', I click start on Strava and then lock my phone. The first few times I did get really flustered because it feels distracting, but it's getting better. Hope you can figure it out!

Dont forget to set the privacy circle if you are going to share the posts on Strava. That way others cant see exactly where you live :) Important if you set out from home each time.

I set my Strava going at the beginning of my 5 min warm-up and then turn it off at the end of the warm-down walk. Horses for courses really. As long as you are consistent it doesn't matter as you will be comparing like with like.

Happy running :)

Thanks. That’s helpful. Will set those privacy settings now!

I'm new to Strava as well so ended up using RunKeeper as well yesterday as I couldn't work out how to get Strava to tell me my split times*. So that was four apps (music/C25K/Strava/RunKeeper) - how did people ever manage to run before smartphones? :)

*I think I've worked it out now.

Blimey!! Don’t even know what a ‘split time’ is! 🤣

I have it set to tell me every half km how fast (well, slow) I'm going. I find I need it to slow down to a suitable pace for me, otherwise I go too quickly and run out of juice.

Strava is popular with parkrun. Similar to jogunlikely I start recording away from where I live. I record only the running and not the walking.

If you visit the Strava website you can do loads more.

Like you I use the C25k app at the same time for timekeeping.

I also play with Runkeeper sometimes.

Maybe try a few different apps before you become an app snob. Use what feels best for you 😸
