Still here...

And still running although no updates to post as I’m redoing week 5. Have redone w5r1 twice and planning to do it a third time before moving on to R2. I feel I am consolidating what I’ve learned and feel better for it. Having said that I’m laid up in bed today with a tummy bug.....

I’ve decided I’d like to sign up for a run of some kind in the spring, to give me another goal and was wondering is there a central website or app where runs taking place throughout the country are posted? Thankyou 😊

Hi Pickles1234 glad you are still with us :) though sorry to hear you are poorly today.

I found a website called findarace.com which has many on but i'm sure the old hands will know of more :)

Have you thought about doing a park run first? Its 5k, its timed and its free!

Hope you are feeling better very soon

Thankyou, have had a look and it’s just what I’m looking for. I have signed up for park runs but wanted a longer term goal to aim for 😊

Thankyou Oldlady61. Was thinking I might feel better later and get my run done but it’s not to be - hopefully tomorrow 🤞

Your run will be waiting. Don’t rush it 👍🏻

Parkrun definitely, especially you can go to that as part of C25K (you can walk part of the 5K - even all of it if you want!). Then you'll have your PB (Personal Best) recorded and have the challenge of lowering it the next week :) parkrun.org.uk

Hi Pickles, another recommendation for Park Runs, people there of all shapes and sizes but more importantly no one judges, just encourages.

Hi - yes I’ve registered for parkeuns but am thinking a longer term goal to keep me motivated 😊

Have you looked at the Bridge to 10K which is the group that follows on from here. It's worth looking a local running clubs, there are people of all shapes and sizes so they're not all about winning races etc. Re looking for events I just googled 10 k runs near me and a load came up. I did my first one last Sunday and loved it, chatted with people before the start who were all friendly.

Sorry about your tummy bug, I hope it goes away soon. This site is quite good for looking an different events. runnersworld.co.uk/event/se... I quite like Vitality events but they are big and can be quite expensive. I put £5 a month a way to do my favourite one once a year.

Thanks Realfoodieclub - I think I’ve found “the one”! 10k in Richmond Park just before my 59th birthday next year! Aiming big.....

Good idea Pickles.

You can still graduate before the year ends 😸

Off to China and Thailand for five weeks on the 14th, so hoping to graduate either in Shanghai or Bangkok!
