Still Running! :) but not ready for the heatwave?!

I know I haven’t posted for a while! But I’m still at it! :) It’s been nearly 5 months since I started C25K and I’m hooked on running :) I recently bought a fitbit which has been a fun way of tracking my heart rate during my runs and generally monitoring my all round fitness :) Also, since I started C25K, alongside a new healthier diet, I’ve managed to lose 2 and a half stone and my BMI is looking healthier! :) so I’m feeling really good and so thankful that I stuck at it! :)

Apparently we’re in for a hot day tomorrow! Up to now it’s been pretty cold and the warmest run I’ve done was probably in about 13 degrees 😂 but tomorrow is supposed to be 21! So any top tips for running in the heat? :) I usually run in the afternoon but I think I’m going to attempt to get up earlier and run in the morning to avoid the hottest part of the day! I do enjoy running on a sunny day though so I’m looking forward to it :)

Happy running everyone! :)

I'm doing fine thanks... I'm still running only once a week at moment. Great achievement on losing weight 👍I've managed to shift a few pounds so I'm very pleased. 😊 Happy running and stay safe 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Well done to you HexGirl on losing weight and getting a healthy BMI, if it is possible for you to run as early as possible to avoid that mini heatwave coming to parts of England on Tuesday and Wednesday before it gets cold again for Easter even with snow on Easter Monday in some places, try and run in the early morning on Tuesday or Wednesday to avoid the heat of later in the day.

Thank you! :) I’m definitely going to try and get out early! And I’m thinking that if I don’t manage to get out early enough I’ll wait until it cools off in the evening! As long as I avoid the daytime heat :) I really don’t fancy anymore snow! 🥶

👍 The weather forecast said that it's Scotland that may get snow on Easter Monday but there could be some in other places as well, what is definitely going to happen is the warm weather won't last long and it will get colder by Saturday.

Definitely as the days get warmer I'll be trying to get out in the mornings too. My ideal running temperature is about 12°C.

21 degrees is hardly a heatwave but it is rarely hot at sunrise, whatever the daytime temperature.

Hi HexGirl, great to hear your still enjoying your running. That’s an impressive weight loss, well done, I’ve lost 2 stone since I took up running.....great feeling isn’t it 😁👍🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

I’d recommend an early morning run in the hot weather

Well done you! That’s amazing! Just goes to show how much good running can do for you! :) I went for the morning in the end and it wasn’t too bad! Still maybe my warmest run yet but by no means unpleasant! I actually quite enjoyed it :)

Thank You 😊 running is life changing

Well done on your morning run, it’s been quite chilly here today, mornings are always the best time to run 👍🏃‍♀️

I’m also not great in any heat. Early mornings for me are best, but it’s also a lovely time to enjoy the stillness of the day. Somehow it just feels different. I walk back without my headphones so that I can hear the birds it’s glorious.

I get what you mean! :) I normally run later simply cause I do better when I’ve already been moving for a bit, but I much prefer the environment of the morning cause of the stillness like you say! I’ve run early all week this week and it’s been lovely especially with the weather :)
