Hi all,

Yes I’ve gone quiet but just thought I’d share the reason why! All being well I’ll be expecting a little one next May 😍.

I managed my 5k run at 5weeks pregnant and my graduation run at 6 weeks. It was at my graduation run that I realised I’d have to slow down. I didn’t quite have the stamina for it and after 10mins kept stopping and starting. I completed it none the less.

That was roughly 2 months ago and I haven’t ran since. This is mainly due to the awful morning sickness that hit me pretty much straight away and the sheer exhaustion.

I have now come out the other side of it and feeling better and more energetic day by day. I know that gentle jogging is a good form of pregnancy exercise and I’m considering getting my running shoes back on.....slow and steady I know!!!

I’m thinking of going right back to weeks 2 or 3 and just seeing how my body responds. If anyone has any advice while I still contemplate getting back on the horse that would be much appreciated!

Any women who have previously ran/jogged/snailed during pregnancy....I welcome your wisdom.

I’ve missed you all and many apologies for going quiet....just been so zonked that running hasn’t been in my radar. I haven’t forgotten you and I look forward to joining in again in some way shape or form. 😘

Fast walking still counts right!?? 🙈🙈🙈

Will do 😊

Congratulations!! That's brilliant news :) I remember the whole morning sickness phase, which I gather was pretty horrendous, so I'm really glad you've come through that, and also really pleased to see that you're keen to get back running.

Your approach sounds entirely sensible to me, just keep listening to your body, and don't overdo it, if you can handle pregnancy, you're more than capable of handling a little running :)

Thank you! Yes definitely thinking slow and steady and intervals of running and walking to start off again.

Thanks for your positivity!

First ultrasound scan on C25K, congratulations, as soon as the baby is born, sign him/her up for a junior parkrun. 😊

Haha! Just felt I owed an explanation after abandoning ship so suddenly! 🙈🙈🙈 Thank you! I’m sure I’ll need the stamina to keep up with him/her 😂
