First 2 runs / walks felt awful afterwards, but pleased to say on the third done today I felt very good not out of breath but fine so really looking forward to week 2.

One thing I’ve learned is to have proper running shoes which I bought as my old trainers were definitely not up to standard, plus a good music playlist helps to pass the time. The app is really excellent.

I think I know why I’ve been so negative about running, is because of school. I’m 56 so it’s probably not like it now, but I remember at school we were forced to do long runs, especially if the class misbehaved and then when you did you had no preparation fitness wise, so no surprises was useless and hated it. Schools have a lot to answer for.

Anyway I’m feeling very positive now about running and feel that if I follow the app properly and not overdo it it will work. Would thoroughly recommend to any beginner to try it.

Thanks very much, your guide is really excellent. I think why my third run went okay was because I was trying to go too fast in the first two runs, whereas the third just did a “gentle jog” and was fine although as you are going slow you don’t feel you’re doing it properly, although obviously that is the correct way.

Glad week 1 went so well for you. I don't think you are alone in trying to go a bit too quickly at first, I know I did. Just take it slowly and trust the programme and you will amaze yourself.

Hi there. I’ve just started my journey too - only done run 1 but really looking forward to tomorrow to get out there again... I agree about school cross country running - scarred me for life but now I am determined to get fitter however slowly that might be!
