Took eldest grandsprocket for a ‘long’ ‘training’ run when we walked the dogs by the river, this morning.
Normally I make him take walk breaks, but it was pretty chilly this morning, so I last minute decided that we should run to keep warm, so told him to tell me when HE needed to walk.
We ran to the road bridge from the foot bridge. I’ve not measured it before but it turns out that it’s 1k. We ran it in 12.38 minutes. Not bad for a 3yo 😍. And I’m pretty sure he would have kept on running, except that under the road bridge is where we’ve been stopping to pick blackberries, and he was really upset to find that there weren’t any today!
Anyway, that’s him definitely ready for the Mini MoRun. He’ll actually have to be as I don’t think I’ll manage to take him for another run between then and now, as - on the walk back to the car - I had a bit of a mishap involving a rather large, sharp bit of gravel and my knee, which resulted in a visit to A & E to have it cleaned up, steri-stripped, and dressed. I finally got home round about the time I should have been arriving at the After Dark event I was due to take part in 😕 Oh well, there’s always next year...

Oh Maddee.... that is a shame about falling! Are you okay now?
That small one.. what a little special one! He did wonderfully! They do run rings around us don't they? After your initial post re the Mini Mo run I replied to you, saying I hope to do the same with our small runner in training next year... She is two tomorrow.. and already runs very quickly!!!
Also glad they are walking.. as they get taller and heavier too!
What a lovely run for both of you... he is going to be quite something next year...he has a great role model though..
My knee feels like a balloon, but doesn’t look like one, so I think I’ll be okay 👍
They do! And his younger cousin (21/2) will be old enough to join in next year too 😍 Your small runner intraining has a truly excellent role model too. No comparing times though 😆
I hope you’re ok! The little one did very well to run for that length of time!
He walks or rides his balance bike most places as his parents don’t drive, so he’s got quite a bit of stamina 😍 My normal problem is getting him to take the walk breaks 😂
Oh Maddee_6333 sorry to hear about your tumble. Sounds nasty. Feet up on the IC for you today. But the run with your little grandson sounded fun. How great for you both.
No-one around to give me TLC, except the doggoes, and I have to take them out for a walk, but there’s a local organised Spaniel walk today, which welcomes my Pointer as an honorary member, so I will take them to that and let him run around like a loon for a bit.
Then come home, do a couple of housework bits, put my feet up and knit in front of the tv with a mug of tea 😊
