Ok apologies if this posted twice was doing in the car and it just seemed to disappear!!

I need some counselling lovely running family...back in the summer we signed up for Newbury inflatable fun run..tomorrow. We entered with our dear friends neither of them Runner’s..Mr L has been putting the training in so will be putting his best foot forward along with Mr P, but my lovely Mrs L has had knee problems and although I said I would do couch to 5k with her, back in the summer it never happened. She says she will probably walk it, but what do I do?? I want to do my best and run as much as possible, but I can’t be a 🐄 and leave her!! 😩😩 I am totally torn!! X

It's a *fun* run - therefore doing your best means you all having the most fun!

If you're itching for a "proper" run, maybe go for one before?

These events are all about fun... I’d stay with my friend and concentrate on the fun bit... the run bit will be available any day.

Maybe put her through W1R1 at least on the way though.

Ah now there’s an idea! Depends on the knee though...I’m sure a lot of the trouble with it is lack of exercise, sure it would actually do it good!!

Very probably... after years of dodgy knees and the prospect of knee replacement looming since my early 20s I finally got the ok to run... and my knees have never been stronger, they can keep the titanium ones for a long time now!

I will drop that into conversation tomorrow! Sure as long as dr said ok would not do any harm! Thanks

What a dilemma Polly. Can you squeeze in your run before or after your fun run? Or alternatively go with what UNM suggested. Whatever you decide, have fun👍🏻

It sounds amazing. How about dressing up daft and just having fun with your friend?

Yeah hat gloves scarf duvet!! 🤣🤣🤣 is freezing ❄️❄️

You could ask her what she thinks, she may just say go for it rather than feeling awkward because she thinks she is holding you back. Enjoy your day however it works out.
