week 3 fail

slower-than-a-snail profile image

hi everyone, week 3 run 1 proved a bit much (I could barely make the halfway point of the first 3 minute run!). back to week 2 for me till 90 seconds of running is a bit less of a struggle.....not ideal, but 90 seconds of running (or more precisely incredibly slow jogging) is still better than no running. wish me luck for week 2, take 2, on Monday!

We don’t use the “f” word in hear. There is no such thing as a failed run , only practice runs which help us get better.

Slow it down even further. If you completed week 2 you’re ready for this you just have to convince your mind that your body can do it.

Good luck, and keep slow, slow, slower as your mantra.

Fail my backside... you crossed the start line... there can be no F word then. Apart from any you throw at your coach of course.

You got to 90 seconds today, I’d suggest you could have gone 120, maybe 150... which is not 180, but it’s still progress. Personally I’d go with W3R1 again and just slow down a touch, and then push to see how long I could last, then recover and go on the next interval. You may then complete the whole thing, or complete your own personal W2.5R1

If you are not managing the runs then you are more than likely not as snail like as you think...slow it right down, and it will happen, I promise! 😊

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

If you don't complete a run, take a rest day, and come back knowing that your practice run has better prepared you for the next one...........and slow down to an easy conversational pace.

You can do this.

Enjoy your journey.

Don't worry about having to repeat a week as I found out on here. I have been repeating week 3 to build my stamina as I struggled with week 4 but will be back doing week 4 tomorrow good luck and keep going😍😍

Fail would have been not getting out there in the first place, keep positive and look at what you've achieved so far. To me, every time I get out in my PE kit is a win👍🏽
