Well done, you've done the hardest bit by making a start. Each week of the programme prepares you for the next week. By the time you get to week nine you'll have eight weeks training behind you and you will be fitter and a better runner than you are now, so what seems unthinkable now will be achievable by then.
Gradually and slowly you WILL be able to run for more than a minute Shona, in fact in 9 weeks as long as you follow the program you will be able to run for 30 minutes.
A lot of (most?) people thought that at the start of C25K. Let's hope you're like thousands of others who surprised themselves!
Welcome and well done getting out there. I don’t think any of us really truly and honestly believed that we’d get to 30 minutes when we started, so you’re not alone. You can do this... keep it slow and steady, keep getting out there and you will do this... not all runs will be easy, some need determination to complete, but they’re all doable. We will be running right there with you every time you lace those shoes... let’s do this.
Well done for starting. You will be able to do it! Just think about the next run then the next run and before you know it you will amaze yourself 😊😊
I thought that at the beginning, but you will be surprised what you can achieve. It may be a struggle sometimes- its a learning process. I repeated some sessions if I needed. Slow, steady and you will get there! 😃👟👟
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Just concentrate the next run and this amazing training plan will get you there..........so start believing.
Enjoy your journey.
I’ll echo what a lot of others have already said - you CAN do it! Many of us doubted ourselves too but take each run at a very slow pace, do dynamic stretches before each run and status stretches after and believe in yourself 👍👍👍
Welcome and well done on starting. My top tip would be don’t look too far ahead and scare yourself. Just look at the next run. You will be amazed at your progress in a few weeks time. Good luck 😉
It seems impossible at first but you can do it. The programme eases you into it. I found the first run of week 1 tough but now on week for and managing 5 minutes a time relatively comfortable. Keep plodding and don't be hard on yourself if you do find it difficult
Shona don't think too far ahead. Take it one run at a time. Before you know it you'll be graduating.
