Full on from here on in. Intervals gave me endurance to push through the run with the psychological boost of a walk or two. Now it's a tough mental slog each run. Onwards...

Intervals are just a pain, longer runs are much better. Break them in to smaller parts in your head. Enjoy them.

Don’t look at it like that or it will be. Just take it slowly, fave music, podcast, audio book to get lost in, or just let your mind wander. Every now and again check your posture, running style - I’m always correcting one bad habit only to start a new one 🙂. Try a new route if possible. Don’t get into any ruts, that does suck the joy out of anything. Smile! I know it’s a pain when people tell you to (or cheer up it might never happen) but it really does help your body fell better and relax when you do.

You’ve got this. And at the end of the day, once graduated and can do 30mins non-stop, if you feel the same way you can have as many intervals/run as you desire👍. In fact this is called, amongst other things, Jeffing (look it up/use search box for posts on it) and is a ‘thing’.

You’ll more than likely grow to prefer running for longer. Stopping and starting seems like it should be easier, but lots of people (I’m one) find it just interrupts the running rhythm and it’s back to square one when you start up again.

Good luck! You’re well on your way to the podium now. 👍

I was glad to see the back of the intervals! These runs now really build you up, so they shouldn’t remain a tough slog for too much longer.

How did it go? I'm due to start Week 7 today, just trying to summon the energy.

Run 1 was fine. Took it slow. It got psychologically easier after the half way mark. Day of rest, then did run 2 yesterday. It was tough, but I knew the second half would be into a strong head wind. Had a rather red face after my exertions! It's a good feeling. People are so right in their responses to this post. Good luck with it

Well done on your progress. I completed run 1 earlier, was a good run although I found the last 5 minutes pretty tough. I'm guessing it will get easier the more I do it though.
