Pleased as punch to have taken part in my first “competitive” (he says, loosely) run since graduating C25K. Great to be able to run for a cause close to my heart and across all entrants, over £2,000 was raised.

This was an undulating trail run so naturally it threw up a few things like holes, dips, branches, pine cones, inclines, sand etc... but still managed to achieve my third best 5k time on it.

Starting to book up more 5k runs that I find online... got one next week at the QE Olympic Park... the Supernova 2018. All done at night in fluorescent and LED accessories, so really looking forward to that one, especially as it’s at such an iconic location.

Going to continue bashing out 5k’s until the end of the year to try and bring my time down to 30:00, before starting a 5-10k plan in the new year. Really want to be half-marathon ready by September for the Great East Run, all being well!

That’s brilliant 👍 keep plugging away at it, that time will be down before you know it, I did my first official one yesterday, so glad to have broken the back of it as such, the very best of luck to you on your running journey 😁

Well done! The Great East run is my goal too. I did my first event on Saturday, which was a park run. I really enjoyed it and hope to do some more 5k’s before taking on a 10k. Good luck with your journey 🙂

It certainly seems to be! Not pushing myself too hard to avoid any recurrences, and getting any “niggles” ironed out by regular visits to a sports massage therapist!
