Did my first parkrun today, my local parkrun is a 15 minute walk away so i thought I'd give it a go! I graduated from couch25k around two weeks ago and have done atleast 5 30 minute runs afterwards.
My goal was to finish somewhere between 30 and 35 minutes, and to get a feeling for how other runners pace themselves.
I got a little excited and went a little faster than usual at the beginning, found myself halving my speed after the first lap(of two).
Ran the whole way through, which I'm proud of!
I'm on the slower side for my age group(18 year old guys can and should be a lot fitter than i am) but it's a start and i don't want to be too hard on myself considering i couldn't do even five minutes of running in August.
Here's to many parkruns to come!

Good job... very decent time. 18 year olds who do run much faster than you have probably done this since they were early teens at least. You’ll get there, in theory you won’t peak until you’re 25 or so and can maintain that for a good 10 years... so don’t worry about the fast guys, you’ve plenty of time to get to that level.
Well done you!👐🏻👐🏻👐🏻 I hope to do my first Parkrun in 3 weeks, when I graduate. If I get a time anything like yours I’ll be ecstatic!! Mind you, it’ll be hard going to improve that brilliant time, so maybe I’ll just keep my 🐌 pace 😃
Hey rgt99! I feel like i'm reading my own thoughts! I just graduated today, and being 21, I also feel like I should be fitter, but we're here aren't we! 33 minutes is a great time and will only improve!
Well done! What a great start to your park run journey! You should feel immensely proud of yourself, just look at how far you have come in such a short period of time - life changing stuff!
