Early morning runs

Can I ask a question. I’m going to have to get up early and run this week much to my disappointment.

So do I eat before I go or eat breakfast after? I don’t know what’s best.

Thank you

It depends on how early you are going out (if you eat, you need time to digest the food before you run) and how long you plan to run for (on C25K you will be fine running on empty, but if you go to longer runs later in you will need fuel). Whatever you do, make sure you hydrate well the night before, as well as before you go out.

I run before work at around 5:30 a.m I just drink a pint of water then eat later on. I think you'll enjoy the early mornings. Everything is nice and quiet with not much traffic. Shame it's dark but just make sure you've got a hi Vis top on and you'll be ok. Enjoy.....

Yes after, don’t jog on food in your belly, like clothes in a washing machine it will jingle around and you’ll feel sick, yuck feeling.

I run around 6.30 am on an empty stomach and have porridge when I get home.
