What a stunning afternoon. I swallowed (at least) 3 midges, got stitches in 2 different places and added 1 new crazy hill in the middle of my run 😂
Sometimes I don’t think Strava does the hills round here justice!! I certainly don’t remember a flat bit at the top of the new steep one that I turned round at so I can’t really work out where it was on this elevation chart 🤔
Anyway, happy as usual just to have got out there!

I don’t use it, but I think phone gps isn’t as good at elevation... not willing to launch my phone upwards to test this theory, but last time I looked on my walking gps there was 100 ft altitude difference to the phone and my gps matched the OS map.
Yes my iphone/apple watch said I’d done a shorter route today but I haven’t checked if it monitors elevation too. I wonder what is meant to be the most accurate? 🤔
They’re both kinda the same... but if you lose gps a running app will assume straight line movement to the new location while the phone will assume none.
Thanks - I live surrounded by hills but thought I’d chuck in a new one for variety today! It’s a track that leads directly up a fell and one of these days I’m determined to actually run up it 😁 (Perhaps 2020...!)
Well I see all these posts about 10ks and half marathons but I’m happy with my short runs still because I can fit those into my day (mentally, if I know it’ll be less than an hour it really helps). So I do need other goals 👍🏻
A few weeks ago I went to the Greenwich Observatory for the first time - I would hate to have to walk up that hill without two plus years of running under my belt! Back in my "Booze, faggs and Boogieing" days I would have keeled over - or more likely, simply turned back after a few steps
Oh I think back to starting c25k back in May and I running up a slight incline was horrendous so I’ve definitely come a long way. And you too, by the sounds of it! 😅
