W6R1 that hurt

Set off at what I thought was the same pace as the last run, how wrong was I, had to snail pace the whole of the last 5mins to keep going, legs were heavy and breathing sucked with a stitch to boot, I know slowly slowly, keep telling myself but easier said than done.

Well done... you got through the infamous W6R1... job done. It’s caught many out and I found it difficult in the last 5 too. Onwards now... you got this.

Thank you, its really strange, what you think should be easier is tougher and the hardest part is still the pacing, in your mind your running slower in reality your going faster and that definitely caught me out tonight. Probably my toughest run since wk. Just wish I had the motivation to have started running 30 years ago because the difference in how I feel after only 6wks is amazing.

I found this run the hardest one of the programme so far!! Also, wow to your speed! I am consistently 7 & 1/2 mins per km haha.... my normal speed is your snail 😂

Also, which app are you using? And is it free? :)

I'm on the nhs app and yes its free, the snail pace is just how it felt, felt like i could of walked faster😂 at the time, pace was too quick tonight and I felt it, achilles bit tight so rest and ice and see if its ok for Fridays run.
