I am a musician and has spent my life not seeing the point of running. I've seen some friends who it has really benefited.. so I thought I'd give it a go.

Running will certainly help... it won’t make you lose much if any weight. Running will add years to your life expectancy of course.
This, alongside a good, slow and steady nutritionally sound weightloss programme will be a formidable combination to get you where you’d like to be.
Start here nhs.uk/Tools/Pages/Healthyw... and you’ll be given a range of calories to eat and lose weight... eat at the upper end of that scale for sustainable (slow) weightloss and do this plan.
The great people on our sister forum healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... have so much knowledge on healthy weightloss it’s unbelievable, they’re a very supportive group too. I’d highly recommend joining there and saying hi too.
The admins will post a link or two here for a guide to the C25K programme and it’s essential reading.
Go for it. It will increase your energy and make you feel just as alive as after a gig. Running is hard, but the C25K plan works. The secret to weight loss is to give up bread, stay away from fast food and processed food and the pounds will fall off you. Eat sensibly and exercise. That’s it. Wish it was that easy.
