New Balance = New Pace?

Ok so how consistent is Strava? Or are my new running shoes really that super? Sunday (all be it first Park Run) my pace was 7.09 and this morning it was 5.58 though over slightly less distance πŸ€” seems like a big difference? They did feel comfy πŸ™ƒπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Could be a few factors... shoes will give you a little for sure... was your run flatter than parkrun maybe? Possibly nervous energy in a group? Maybe not the best time of day for you yet?

Unless you have any straight lines on your run map, Strava is pretty accurate. So maybe a few factors added together and made you over a minute faster on pace... do I think that’s reasonable? Yes, very much so. Great run.

Cheers, I'll have to repeat it some time to see if it was a fluke as I'm just gobsmacked thought I'd probably stay plodding forever..might even get that 5k in 30 mins one day πŸ€”πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Cheers Cheeky! That's why I questioned it, too good to be true I thought. Might be because I popped Sanjeev back on today for a change maybe he spurred me on! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Good idea. I might see if MJ fancies a run with me again one of these days. I do miss him!

I love Sanjeev!! Think sometimes the time countdown helps more than Strava shouting the kilometres at me 😁😁

All GPS devices can give erratic results. You will only know when you repeat the run under similar conditions.

I often ran with Runkeeper on my phone alongside a running watch and most of the time they agreed with each other, but I do remember one occasion when Runkeeper, erroneously, notified each kilometre at about 800metres, so the two diverged dramatically over a 5k run. Nobody has ever manage to explain that one to me.............. technology.........

I'll definitely run that route again as it was a nice circular do I'll check my figures and see πŸ€” technology, fantastic when it works....
