Going nowhere quickly

Still not able to do the entire W5 R1 run, shin splints just won't go away whatever i try at the moment 😞 Getting more and more annoyed as the rest of me is fine. I've tried 2 rest days then 3 rest days but as soon as I try even a gentle very slow jog the pain after 2 minutes is unbearable 😞

Oh no. Maybe try a bit running until next weekend? I don’t know what else to suggest. Try to stay positive, hopefully you’ll be back soon.

Thanks as usual for the support 👍it really does mean the world to me as haven't got that many people to turn to in normal life. Going to try and find a decent sports physio for help and see if anything else can be done. The way things are going with my fitness routines I'm going to end up with a massive upper body with tiny legs lol 😂

Well, it’ll be a different shape. Keep going with anything you can, it’ll help when you’re ready to run again. I had frustrations with injuries early on... its frustrating, I didn’t know how long before I’d be back, I just knew that I would be. We’ll all be here ready to run, laugh and cry with you.

Assuming that you now have appropriate footwear, if the issue is persisting then a sports physio is probably your next best bet. I don't know if you have seen this runnersworld.com/shin-splints/

These issues can normally be overcome with the right help.

Have my new run shoes now which were suggested by an expert and they feel great. Will check out that link shortly. Thank you ☺️
