First run W1R1

Well did it. Probably a mistake to do it at the end of the day after having done a 5 mile fast walk this morning. R2 will take place early am and my decent walk late in the day - if I am up to it. Still “up and running - just!!!”

Haha yes a 5k fast walk will take something out of your legs for the run but well done for getting it done. Make sure you take your rest days, they are as important as the runs and give your muscles a chance to repair and be stronger. Not getting proper rest is a recipe for injury for elite to beginner athletes. Enjoy the C25k journey

Welcome... check this post out... there is some useful and very sound advice there for Newbies.

Make sure you take at least one day between runs...our running muscles need time for the micro tears to heal... and the walking is great for extra rest day exercise...along with swimming or cycling or Yoga etc etc. Your walks need to be brisk and a decent length too:)

Keep your runs slow and steady... and always listen to your body..it is your best guide :) Next to us of course:)

Great job... I remember my first one... and as you haven’t mentioned nearly dying, ambulances, paramedics or A&E I guess you got the pace much better than I did! That’s the hardest session done... enjoy the next one.

In the history of C25K, as far as I know, no person starting with run 1 of week 1 has died, had to call an ambulance or the paramedics or after the run has gone to A&E at their local hospital. They may feel like that after running but it has never happened.
