Did a Jason Derulo this morning, I let Sanjeev have a lie in and I took to the mean streets alone (well tow paths and open spaces).

Today on my post grad run #2 I wanted to experience the full 5k just to see how it felt. To be honest, not much different to the 4.1k I've been doing in the 30 minute runs, just about 8 mins more. I think this is the way forward for me, do the distance and reduce my time rather than trying to cram it into 30 mins. Psychologically it's a positive approach rather than failing to achieve a goal each run I will be achieving 5k each time and improving my times (hopefully😋).

Today has definitely boosted my confidence in my running ability and that I am on track for the challenge that is a Park Run, hopefully a week Saturday 🤞🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

You’re more than ready for parkrun... don’t need to doubt that at all.

Your logic is good, so now you can forget time and measure runs in distance. Consolidate carefully into that of course... it’s more than 10% if you up all 3 runs at the same time.

Thank you unfitnomore! I know I'll be a bag of nerves on the day, running with 'real people'!

Yes maybe not 5k every run, going to try the post grad podcasts too for stamina and speed, see how they feel too. Mix it up a bit 😊

Just arrive early and have a chat with the guys setting the start and finish up, they’ll soon get rid of the nerves and recall their first steps into running. Oh and now you are a real runner.

Mixing it up is good... follow a plan of some sort and learn why they do different paces, run lengths etc. The podcasts are something I’ll be trying soon.

I really will feel like a runner after a park run! Thanks for the advice unfitnomore, always welcome 😊

I like your strategy. If you can last the distance you can always always improve speed over time. Well done.
