Good job... did you think you’d describe runs as “fun” a couple of weeks ago?

I did a couch to 10 k about 10 years ago and loved it. Trained for about 6 months Quickly reverted to couch potatoe. Occasional sore knees in the intervening years from over use so I'm hoping to be dilligent, follow the programme, keep it slow, avoid sore knees and get to do some Parkruns. So hoping it stays fun!!

Cool... didn’t know you’d been here before. You have similar aims to me, and I have dodgy knees that took me out of this for about a week each... strangely pain free in recent weeks. Parkrun is where I want to end up, but I do have a need to run one marathon.. so I’m gonna 5k train over winter and probably to at least spring and then spend a year extending distance then marathon, and straight back to 5k max.

Wow a marathon, that's a great target. 10 k is my target by next summer. Gotta get to 5k first. Slow and steady.......😊

Gotta have a target and plenty of time to not rush it too.

Well welcome back. I'm finding my knees are beginning to be unimpressed with my running antics 🙃, but I strap 'em up with physio tape and all is good!

It's 10 k for me right now, then a half marathon in spring...good luck with all your aspirations. Oh and Parkruns are brilliant.

I finish week 2 on Saturday, so I 'm keeping an eye on how you're doing.

Happy running 😸
