W3R1 done!

Phew! The jump to 3 minutes was definitely noticeable, but I've done it!

Although I knew there was less walking time, I finished a lot further away from my house than I expected. Definitely need to leave more time for the next 2 runs I think.

Well done! I'm meant to be starting Week 3 today so it's good to see people getting there.

However, the thought of 3mins non-stop is terrifying - I even had a nightmare about it last night! I'm doing c25k on the treadmill in the gym at the moment (knee/ankle/calf issues - treadmill seems to be kinder for some reason) and hoping no-one else is going to be there to hear me panting and see my beetroot face!

Was wondering whether to insert a Week 2.5 and build up the the 3mins with a 2min run ...? Has anyone else done something similar?

I was worried about the 3 minutes as well but I just took it really easy, the last minute of the 3 is hard but all you need to do is complete it. I'd say just go for it!

You just need to think about it like you're running the same amount of time as last week. Which you are, 9 minutes, just in a different order. You can do it!

Thanks Runningforchips! I've just staggered out of the gym having done it! Am shocked. I didn't realise just how slowly I could run on the treadmill (I walk faster!) which definitely helped. And for some reason, once I had hit the 2 min mark, it actually felt do-able! I'm sure I can treat myself to a curry tonight...!

Feeling motivated as my friend has trained me into doing park run in September (damn that bottle of wine!).

Good luck with the rest of your W3!

Well done, I just finished week 2 r 3 today. I really need to sort out speed and breathing for starting the 3 min runs. It will come I'm sure

Go slow! I kept reading that but didn't realise until today how slow you can go!

woo Im now also finished w3 r1, THOUGHT it was gona kill me as 90 seconds had me nearly wretching a few days ago but no... I found it one of the most manageable runs I have done. I did slow my pace down a fair bit and lifted my legs as little as possible so I wonder if that is the difference.. but regardless, I did it!

Well done HappyBeee! It's quite a surprise isn't it? It's certainly upped my confidence being able to do it.
