Decided not to...

Belabour distance too much. Having had a couple of weeks where I've either been unable or unwilling to go out, and a bit of an injury (sore hamstring) I've not run so much. So instead, I've decided that I'm more focused on three things:

1: New routes. I'm bored! I live essentially at the bottom of a damn big hill, with an A road at the bottom. I can only go up, so I've been using the woods as an excuse (they're gently down and then up again. Amazing for running in, but... Pedestrian. Nice to cut my running teeth on, but I'm a big boy now, and need leg shredding hills to turn me into a running MAN. I need some variation, and some of the routes into my local town are brilliant, I even point them out to my wife, so I'm getting out of my comfort zone. My comfort zone sucks. I've plotted a couple of runs today that will not only kill my calves, but give me some serious bragging rights on here. And yes, I'm actually that shallow. Have you only just noticed that?

2: Distance. I'm going to be focusing on one distance run per week. As I've got a personal best of 6k so far, I expect to add 500 meters to that a week/or every ten days after my first distance run, which will begin at 6k and go from there.

3: I'm comitting to a park run every week, work permitting. I love running with my son, and I've even roped my sister in law into it, who in her words 'runs like a girl'. She IS however capable of a good 5k, and she's a fashion designer so I've asked her to make me race leggings. Apparently, they're going to be FLOURESCENT with my face all over them. (I sent some selfies last night...) My wife says they will be 'as tasteful as possible'.

I sincerely hope not. I don't do tasteful.

Eek... I may have to run away!

That damn big hill needs running up! Good sensible plan with the distances. I’d hope your sister-in-law did run like a girl. Looks like parkrun is gonna be a family experience, and sounds like the perfect Saturday morning to me.

Now... do I close my eyes when you reveal the leggings? Don’t want to scar my mind 😂

It may be an idea to actually turn off your monitor, unplug it and then... Burn it. Just in case. 😂

And my ultimate hill (I'll do it one day) is 2.2 miles long. I dread to think how high it is...
