Hey πŸ™‹πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

After weighing myself on the scales and bmi calculator in boots this afternoon, I was disgusted to find I weigh 13st 6 😯 this is the heaviest I have ever been. And at 5ft 3inches tall (or small) this makes my bmi a whopping 33 which is horrifying!! I have been on and off slimming world for years I just don't have the commitment to stick at it, especially when it's half term and the children are off! I did the obligatory sign up to the gym in January day. This time an all ladies gym. I had one induction and never went back. The women there were like minded mum's doing a gym sesh after the school run, but this ended up in them hogging all the machines and equipment. The girl who was supposed to do my 'induction' was too busy laughing talking and joking with the regulars to even notice I was there. This made my anxiety through the roof so i never went back. So I came across this app and I'm just PRAYING that I can find some light at the end of the tunnel with it! Any advice will be greatly appreciated thankyou x

Welcome.... check this post out...

healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Lots of great advice here...

This is not a weight loss programme... and you may or may not lose weight... but..you will get stronger, feel fitter and linking this with a healthy eating regime... you could be on to a winning combination:)

Slow and steady is the mantra and post your runs. You are amongst friends here...and we all run together:)

Hi! Just wanted to say well done on trying...and never give bup trying no matter how many time you start over! Im pretty sure we've all had gym membership s we have up on, I know I have. In the end I decided that the gyms are full of those really annoying fit people which only ever made me feel worse not better. Giving this a go is working out better for me I think, I hope it does for you too XX by the way - My first week 1 runs were soul destroying - I couldn't finish without having an extended walk after the sixth 1minute run and I thought I was silly to think I would ever progress! Still here though X

Welcome. Use the Weight loss NHS forum on here in conjunction with C25K and you’ll be very well set to be lighter, toned and fitter... a formidable combination.

Be ready to measure yourself... as Oldfloss says this isn’t a weight loss programme and, as it builds muscle, it can mean you get β€œbad” results on the scales as those muscles develop... the tape measure may well show inches off the waist and thighs (as well as other places) when the scales show no loss on a week, so the tape measure gives a better picture of progress in my opinion.

You can do the weight loss and you can become a runner. Hard work will deliver the results that you want. Good luck on your journey.

Don’t just look at the scales - you will change shape and feel far more motivated to get back to the shape you want to be. Go by how you feel, how you look and how your clothes feel but not scales!

Just to say, I was 13st 6 when I started this too (albeit with a lower BMI as I'm taller) and at the end of Week 1, with no adjustments to my diet, I was 13st 7! So don't set too much store by the numbers on the scales. Since then, I've made changes to my diet, halved my alcohol intake, as well as adding other non-impact exercise into my weekly routine, and a month later I'm 13st 1. Good luck!

I incorporated joining WeightWatchers with C25K, the change in my lifestyle & starting running really helped me. I linked my Garmin to my Weight Watcher app which gives you a buzz when you see your fit points climb up. All the best on your journey it definitely works & you will get loads of support on here πŸ‘πŸ’ͺ

Hi, firstly welcome to this happy running family! πŸ™‚

You’ll find β€˜real’ people on here. We’ve all got here one way or another and no-one’s going to judge you. πŸ‘

Stick with the programme and post anytime you need help. You’ll always be supported, as many of us have been. πŸ˜€ Remember that you’re doing this for you, not anyone else. It might seem hard from time to time but the sense of achievement is great when you get there.πŸ™‚

Good luck, we’ll be here if you need us ☺️
