Hi guys, a confession here . I decided a few months ago I'd like to try a super sprint triathalon (400m sea swim, 5km bike run, 2.5km run). Mad never done before. But I've recently started enjoying swimming in the sea after a move to the coast, and thought why not?

So I started the C25K, after a sucessful visit to a sports therapist who sorted my back out. Whilst cross training with swimming, cycling and some core strength exercise. With my aim to reach week 8 or 9 and be able to run 2.5km fairly consistently.

So the last few weeks I slowed down the C25K programme, and fitted in a couple of brick workouts, 5km on bike and a short steady ( not pushing it too hard) 10 min run/jog .

I completed the triathalon on Sunday! Amazing day....I came very close to last but I did it ...!

For the run I paced myself slowly, concentrating on trying to engage my core to save my back. I had to nip to the loo for a wee break! I finished the 2.5 km run in under 20 mins....with no injury thanks to the C25k.

I'm knackered, but not injured. So I'm going to resume week 8 run 3 at the weekend and hopefully graduate soon !!!

I've really gained courage reading the post on here to finish. Not sure where i want to go with running, but i definitely want to complete a park run soon xxx

I'm feeling it now , quite sore but not too bad. It's a totally flat course so not too hard. Everyone was really friendly and a lot of the women I spoke too were doing the super sprint as first timers . It was a great experience, I'm still buzzing now from finishing !

I looked at the training for a half marathon...It's epic....so much running to fit in . Well done ! I'd like to get to 10 k one day, but I'm in no hurry .
