W5R3 gotcha!

Just finished the dreaded- at least by me- first ‘long’ run. The skies were kind and the road junction gods were smiling for a change. Found towards the end my head was tempted to count steps - something I couldn’t stop myself doing in weeks one and two, and so when Sarah said two minutes to go I found myself thinking only 300 left....did anyone else have the urge to count or is it just me? It disappeared once the runs got above two minutes - until today! Feeling great now, just about to take One Disgruntled Dog for his walk - he can’t understand why I leave the house in trainers without him!

Thanks to everyone who posts. This is my first but you have all been a great support!

Well done on your run! It’s a great feeling isn’t it? Remember to take it slow next week as W6 is notorious for catching people out. Embrace the 🐌!

I’ve just gone into W7 and have also started using tactics that I used in the earlier weeks (just get to the lamp post, bus stop etc) and despite the challenges my W7 run has been my best yet, both mentally and physically.

Happy running! 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️

Well done you! I completed it last night so we're at the same stage ☺ I still can't believe I did it; right up until I started yesterday's run I didn't think I'd manage 20 minutes. It's good to find that the increases are getting easier the further in I get - I have never run before in my life and in week 1 struggled with the 1 minute runs! Feels great doesn't It?

It’s fab. I’ve never run with intention before but I really feel I’m getting somewhere now. Just need to keep going and not get over ambitious! Week 1was the worst week for me, then as the programme builds it starts to make sense.

Yes! That's my mantra when it gets tough "just keep going, just keep going" and I promise myself an ice lolly as a reward 😁

Well done! I'll be embarking on Week 5 next week and I have to say that I'm dreading Run 3 already! It looks like such a step up. Glad to hear it's not as bad as it looks!

You can do it! In the end each run in week 5 is a step up and hard but manageable if you have followed the programme. Strange but true!
