Hi everyone, I am contemplating doing this as I stopped smoking nearly 4 months ago and I’ve stopped drinking also, I only drank on a Saturday night but cutting it out completely will help me feel better im sure.

Welcome to the forum.
All you need to know to get started is in this guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Enjoy your journey.
If you quit smoking you obviously have the will power to do this. well done you. Don’t give up everything you enjoy “all work and no play” good luck but you won’t need it.
Hi Woggle and thanks, I gave up smoking due to watching dad die of lung cancer in Feb, I decided enough is enough, I’m 48 so no spring chicken so I know this will be hard for me as I don’t even like running ha ha ha but I’d rather do this than go to a gym.
I’ll remember the ‘all work and no play’ I promise 😃
Welcome Monica! You’ve made a fabulous decision and you won’t regret it! Loads of helpful advice (and silly yet friendly chat!) on here, so check back often, and don’t forget to update us with your progress! 😀😀👏👏👍👍🏃♀️🏃♀️
Thank you so much, I’ve just downloaded the Couch to 5k app so I’ve committed myself, also, now winter is on our doorstep, darker earlier, no one will see me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Give it a few weeks and hopefully you'll be proud to let the world see you out there. Staying off the smoking can be hard but every ciggie not smoked makes the running a bit easier, and being a runner helps resist the smokes. Start soon I'd say and let us know how you get on.
Go for it .😁
Definitely go for it. Feels like yesterday I posted my newbie post and just started week 5 and feeling great.
Everyone is so supportive on here 😊
One thing I need to work on is my breathing, I tend to hold my breath when I do exercise which is stupid I know and ive no idea why I do it lol
Usain Bolt may not breathe while running 100 metres, but it is essential on this programme. There is advice on this in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
