Eurgh!!! I was faffing about this morning thinking about going for another attempt at W1. I have done more than 3 attempts at this but only managed all 8 mins once so far :-(

I was going into Birmingham today fir a spot of shopping so was umming and ahing about running and decided not to, reasoning that I would co when I got back. Well I am back now but not sure I want to go now as I am tired! Grrrrr

I really am determined to get through this programme. Even if it takes me 4 times longer than 9 weeks!!!

Go out now and do it! Believe me, I am the queen of procrastination, so I can sympathise, but you'll really feel like you've achieved something if you go and do it. You'll go to bed very apply if you do. Don't worry about it taking a long time to complete weeks, everyone goes at their own pace and you will notice an improvement in no time!

Sending you best wishes! It must be so difficult to try again when you've found the start so difficult. On the running front (no expert by the way) perhaps try to jog slower? It's so tempting to go off like a shot but if you slow right down it will be easier on the body and you might be able to get to the end? Believe me, sometimes it will feel like you'd be quicker walking, but it's still jogging I promise!

On the motivation front. It's hard to get out here, and even harder if you're not quite into it yet. I have to run first thing. I get up and put my workout clothes on straight from bed, have a small breakfast, then go, and then shower. If I don't go first thing, it does not get done. Occasionally I'll go after work, but most often not. It's up to you to find the right time, but you need to make the time and plan for it as an appointment with yourself.

Also on the motivation front. 8 minutes is 8 minutes more than nothing. If you have to increase it by one repeat at a time then so be it. It's actually really hard getting used to feeling out of breath. Stick with it, you will get there.

Wishing you huge amounts of luck. Let us know how you get on. Well be here to cheer you on.

You were all right of course. Just been out and managed all 8 runs. I think I was going too fast before as was really struggling by run 6 before. I slowed my pace and did all 8 :-).

Now for some dinner.
