Hi all, how do you feel after a run ? I have run 5k 7 times now after each run I do a warn down walk for 5 mins , some stretches and have a couple of pints of water and a shower. I feel great straight after but once a couple of hours has passed I feel really tired for the rest of the day, this happens every time. Anyone else feel like this ?

Yup, definitely. I did W6R2 this morning and as you say after shower and a bit of lunch, I could easily fall asleep in the afternoon. There's nothing wrong with my blood test results so I don't know what it is.

I usually get a lift but Iโ€™m not running 5k yet. The thing that struck me was that you drink a couple of pints of water... are you sipping them slowly? If you down them theyโ€™ll pretty much go straight through!

Youโ€™re doing great, are you of healthy BMI and happy with your shape? If so maybe you need to add a little fuel?

Usually drink first pint pretty quick then sip the second. I'm 5 stone overweight so don't think lack of fuel is a issue ๐Ÿคฃ

I'm the same amount overweight, too. Maybe it's just because we weigh too much!

I think it maybe... in which case it wonโ€™t last. I think it will all normalise as we get fitter. Weโ€™ve worked the legs and lungs, some processes may still be getting themselves off the couch! Maybe the fat to fuel process isnโ€™t as efficient as it is at peak just yet.

I had the opposite problem in the heatwave, I was running at 9/10pm and then wide awake for hours! Thankfully I can run earlier now.

We aren't medically trained.. but, as long as your nutrition and hydration is correct.. it may pass. If not, maybe get a check up to see all is well :)

You are a new runner.

The same thing got me for quite a few months after early morning 5ks, but now I feel far more revitalised by a run.......... I would start to doze off at coffee break.

Give it time and your body will get used to the extra demands.
