Hi Jethro, the NHS C25K program is based around either a podcast (on a phone or MP3 player) or an app (on a smartphone). In either case, there is a spoken prompt that tells you when you walk and when to run (and gives encouragement along the way). It is intended for you do it alone: most of us on this forum have done (or are doing) it this way.
Some running clubs put on C25K for new runners, and you take part in a group with a lead runner telling you when to run and when to walk. That's a great social experience, and early September is a perfect time to start. The downside is that the running sections are at a particular pace, which might be too fast or too slow for you. You could google Running Club in Amersham or C5K in Amersham to see what is starting about now.

Check this out and welcome!
You don't need a group... just this plan.. you and us... If you want running company then check out your local running groups.
Many of them do a C25K programme..but this forum follows the NHS C25K...which is fantastic...
Loads of support here and encouragement too.. give us a try
I started a month ago but go to Holmer Green/Hazelmere. You are welcome to join me? I’m in Amersham too
