No Falling over for me, today...

...instead the MyAsics app reset itself soon after I started running, so I definitely ran closer to 11/2k than the 1k I was supposed to do. But I felt fine - even if I do have a lovely purple bruise on my side - so all is good.

I actually planned my run for part way (the flattest part) round my dog walk today, so I was walking again by the time I came across a field of ‘wild’ sunflowers.

Good job... app resetting just worked you a bit more 😂

Thanks.

Which is fine when it’s only a short distance 👍

Yeah, could be a bit nasty on a 20 mile marathon plan run 😂

Full marathon is too far for me, but app failure was bad enough on a HM training run last winter 😕

I do want to do one marathon... and someone once told me I couldn’t do it, so I will! The app I use for some runs has 5k plans that reach 10 miles, so I’m not looking forward to 10k or HM 😂. I’m actually thinking as my marathon won’t be a regular one that I can do 10 miles on a few 5k cycles and then go straight to its marathon plan. Obviously I’ll be needing another device as a backup too!

As long as you don’t try to do too much too soon, that sounds like a reasonable idea.

I don’t do any runs anymore, without at least 2 apps running and I generally have my Garmin on as well.

Indeed it’s for my ambition of a 25 minute 5k so I set it at six months and 3/4 days a week... it slowly ups the long runs and sticks pretty rigidly to the 10% rule before peaking at 10 miles. Overkill for parkrun I know, but I plan to follow this plan for 2 or 3 iterations before booking a marathon and a six month plan to that... so that’s my next 2 years done!

As it starts based on my current mileage per week and I’ll be looking at more running days for the marathon, all I’ll need to remember is to half my current mileage before kicking that plan off.
