Ran my final run of week 9 tonight. Super chuffed and equally astounded at completing the C25K program. It took longer than 9 weeks as I repeated a lot of the runs but not once did I not finish the run. I can’t believe it. Think I’ve changed my habit of lounging around doing nothing (although not saying this won’t happen occasionally). Also lost 2 stone in the process so felling good, looking good. Win. Planning on a park run next but having done the majority of the program on the treadmill I’m not sure I’ll know how to pace myself. Any tips?

Fabulous! Well done 👍 the fun starts here🏃🏾♀️
Well done that’s brilliant! You’ll love parkrun. I’d advise getting a garmin watch. I have a cheap 35. It’s everything a runner needs really. You may find it a bit harder outside at first but it’s much nicer and you’ll soon get used to it. You can always run walk if you need. Have fun! Parkrun is addictive ‘
Thanks Tasha. I have an Apple Watch but any tips on setting pace outdoors? On the treadmill I ran majority at 7.5 increasing to 8.5/9 for the final 5 mins of the 30min run.
I use WorkOutDoors on my 🍏 ⌚️
You can set min/max pace alerts and also see how far you are off your target.
Great app, use it for every run I do.
From memory it is £5, but definitely worth it.
Just use apple workout! It should be on your watch already! I have an Apple Watch too but it’s battery life is no good got long runs and it’s not quite as accurate as Garmin especially the timing but it’s ok. 🤣
Huge well done you..please now, some consolidation, and do take a peek at the pinned FAQ for the What Next post?
👏👏👏👏👏 well done you!
Congratulations! I have a Apple Watch it's very good . I to have been doing c25k on treadmill. Good luck running out side. Let us know how your u get on 🏃♀️🙌
Congratulations on your graduation, it’s something to be proud of. I’d try your consolidation runs outside. You’ll have to take into account the terrain, wind speed and heat, so your pace will no doubt reduce. But once outside I am sure you will love it. I’m also a great advocate of parkrun and haven’t stopped going since my c25k graduation. It is fun and supportive. Check out the parkrun website for info. 🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♀️👏🏻👏🏻
Very well done!
Like you I used a treadmill at times. Usually in the downpours we’ve had this summer. But running outside is glorious. But if you’re used to the steady flat surface of a treadmill it might feel as if you’ve stepped backwards but take heart: all that outside wind and weather and traffic and the inclines and different surfaces make it much more interesting! So consolidate (ie a few weeks of short runs and a 5k or a ParkRun on Saturdays), and don’t feel bad if 5k suddenly feels impossible. Try running in different places: I hate pavements and built up areas - I still feel self conscious, so I run in the woods, in the park, on the beach and on a running track.
And don’t forget to claim your well deserved Graduate badge!

Well done, it's a great feeling isn't it?
Congratulations and well done on your graduation from the C25k plan. Enjoy parkrun, you’ll love it.
Don’t think too much about pacing for your first parkrun. Just run at a nice easy comfortable pace. Start at the back of the pack and run at a pace where you could comfortably hold a conversation. If you get tired and need a walking break or two just take it. Leave plenty in the tank to come back and get a PB time the following week. When you get used to parkrun you’ll recognise people who are running and finishing about 20 - 30 seconds ahead of you. Use them to pace yourself and try to finish ahead of them.
