I am on W9R2 and absolutely SO proud of my never-ran self! But i do keep a slow steady pace to make it through the 30mins. I also start with roughly 10mins walk up a steep hill (to get to the best route i've found). The first 1.8k is slightly uphill which is around 10-15mins and i struggle a bit but turning back for the remainder is much easier- i could probably keep going!!
My question is this:
(Or rather the encouragement i need!!)
Will i run faster? Ever?
I seem to be going slower than the shorter runs, doing around 3.6k in 30 mins. Is that pathetic?? I don't feel i could go faster..
I have thought of maybe pacing up at the end..? But then it's uphill again!!

I'm slower than you - cover about 3k in 30 mins. The speed will come the more you run - we expect so much in 9 wks but enjoy being out there and stick with it post grad - then you can start to push on a bit. I'm going to try the c25k+ podcasts - one of those concentrates on how to up your pace a bit. Good luck and happy graduation ahead x
Well done, youโre within touching distance of the podium! Bubbles are on ice ready for you to celebrate! ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ
Iโm slow too, but the pace is gradually creeping up. Yours will too, with extra miles in your legs.
Iโm nearly 3 weeks post-grad and Iโve already shaved 2+ minutes off my 5k time. My 30 minute graduation run was 3.72km, but since running 2 x 4k and 1 x 5k per week, my pace has quickened without trying.
There are lots of different methods, but this one is fun and working for me. Youโll speed up too - donโt forget, thereโs no hurry! Just enjoy your graduation and consolidate the 30 minute runs for a while before deciding how to proceed. ๐
Ooooh exciting! Youโre so close - the end of the beginning ๐คฉ C25K really is just the start of your running journey and pace will increase with time. Be proud that in 9 short weeks youโve achieved so much! Maybe you could go to the park and โpracticeโ the park run route to see how you get on before you go for the actual run?
