There was a great big gremlin at my front door trying to get me to stay in today. It took some getting past but I enlisted the help of the lovely Laura with a sneak preview of the stepping stones podcast. 1.2.3.4....1.2.3.4... sorry Laura but not even my little legs which feel like they are going at barely faster than walking pace most of the time are as slow as the beat on the first running bit.
So after a pit stop to get the music going instead off I plodded. I switched off all the robo prompts from endomondo so that I could just run without thinking about distance and pace and really enjoyed myself. Plod plod plod...in the zone, along my usual route. I knew when my 30mins were up by the playlist and stopped but part of me is wondering if I could keep going for an extra 5 mins or so and reach 5K on my final run.
Watch this space...and roll on Friday
Good luck to all the other week 9'ers!!

You're doing great, fatmumslim! It's interesting what you say about stepping stones and I've heard others saying its too slow for them too. I'm 5ft 6 in with approx 30 " leg length and stepping stones is just right for me. I'm trying to get my time for 5 k down from 34 mins and stepping stones is definitely helping. I can't get my head round why it works for some people but not others - there must be a scientific explanation! Is Prof Brian Cox a member of this forum by any chance? Best wishes for the rest of the programme!
I've only got wee short legs - I'm only 5' tall - so not a very long stride at all. I just couldn't get the timing right. I would be more than happy for Prof Cox to test any theories on me if required. Woops did I say that out loud
