Hi all, I did my first consolidation run today and really enjoyed it! Did the 5k in 32:14, which I was pleased with 😁
My query is - I think I am running lopsided? After a run, I have pain in my left shoulder blade and the next day the left side of my neck is sore. I have a dodgy hip on my right side (not sure what’s wrong with it, many physios are baffled, but it’s very clicky and gets sore often). By the end of the run, that hip is sore. The right side of my glutes are also sore by the end of the run, but I feel nothing in the left side.
Is it possible to run lopsided? And if it is, how can I correct it? Any ideas what I could be doing wrong and how I can correct it would be really appreciated!!

Hi emilyb I’ll leave any advice re your lopsidedness to the experts, but I just wanted to congratulate you on your first consolidation run and a great time for your 5K - so you must be doing something right!
The main one I saw was a general muscoskeletal physio. The hip has been a problem for years (long before I started doing regular exercise). She found multiple trigger points and each time she thought she’d found the cause of the problem, it would turn out not to be that. We ultimately left things with her saying she really wasn’t sure what more she could do, as she couldn’t find the route of the problem after more than a year of treatment, and anything she did seemed to make the pain worse.
I meant physios of course, not physics. I would suggest seeing a sports physio and one who is recommended in your area - maybe speak to your GP.
I'm also lopsided (it's quite obvious in the mirror and when I see video of me jogging or running) and it causes me knee issues. It may not be a solution for you, but I wear custom-made orthotics, without which I would never have been able to do C25K five years ago.
